Resolution

Option 1: Restart

At first, try to restart Microsoft Outlook. The error could be caused by minor malfunction.

In the case that the restart of Microsoft Outlook is not helping, try to restart your computer. The new launch of all applications can resolve the issue.

Option 2: Subsequent procedure (restart isn't working)

In the case that restart of Microsoft Outlook or restart of your computer won't help, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Check whether there are multiple Office versions installed, e.g. Office 2013 and Office 365. In such case one of the versions has to be uninstalled and PC has to be restarted.
  2. Check whether you have installed all updates of MS Office. If you have Office 365 Click-to-Run, update is not reachable through Windows Update, but right in MS Office (e.g. in main menu of MS Outlook).
  3. If you have Microsoft Lync installed, check, whether background processes Communicator.exe or ucMapi.exe are not running.
  4. Launch Microsoft Office Repair in Windows Control Panel.
