Create New Company While Importing Contact

Create New Company While Importing Contact option allows you to set whether companies will be created during the import of contacts to eWay-CRM. Since different users may create different names for the same companies in MS Outlook, eWay-CRM will automatically create different companies.

Important: If the function is turned on, it is possible that different users will have same company under different name in the imported contact - e.g. one user will have company as eWay System LLC, other as eWay and other as eWay System. Due to this differences, there can be duplicate companies after the import.

If you want to use this setting, your user must have permissions not only for Contacts module, but also for creating companies. If user has not these permissions, setting will not work.

Double-click Create New Company While Importing Contact to bring up the Global Setting card.

If the check box is marked, the function is turn on and the company will be created during import of a contact from MS Outlook to eWay-CRM. Company will adopt this values from the contact:

  • company name,
  • billing address (contact business address),
  • email address,
  • phone numbers (phone, mobile, fax),
  • relation to the contact.

If the check box is not marked, the function is deactivated and companies won't be created. Company will be added as text into Company field on contact in eWay-CRM.

Clicking OK in the lower part of the Global Setting card save changes and close the card. If you wish to close the Global Setting card without saving any changes, click Cancel.
