Check for duplicates by
This feature is available in module Contacts & Companies (Professional).
The setting is in: Administration Center > Features > Contacts & Companies.
The Check for duplicates by option gives you the opportunity to check when you are creating and editing an item, whether or not the item already exists in eWay-CRM. The control is set to EIN / ID field, if that field is empty, the duplicate check will not be processed.
Click the Check for duplicates by setting to see its options.
The setting has these options:
- Don't check for duplicates - no duplicity check proceeds.
- EIN / ID - when you save a company into the system, the comparison of the EIN / ID field in the Company window with other items in the system will be made. If the same identification number is found, your item will not be saved, but the system will offer you to open an already existing item which you will be able to check or update.
- VAT - when you save a company into the system, the comparison of the VAT field in the Company window with other items in the system will be made. If the same VAT number is found, your item will not be saved, but the system will offer you to open an already existing item which you will be able to check or update.
When you change the settings, be sure to click Save. For more information, go to Features.
