Create eWay-CRM Account and Connect to Database

If you are moving to the higher version of eWay-CRM or you are experiencing eWay-CRM for the first time, we created simple guide for creating eWay-CRM account and the database. This welcome window allows you to set the database.

When you launch eWay-CRM for the first time, a new window will open over the MS Outlook window. By the new window, you are welcomed to eWay-CRM. Following text describes the quick and efficient way to use this window. Steps are:

  1. Select the Language
  2. Select the Type of eWay-CRM Edition
  3. Choose the Form of the Database
  4. Select Modules
  5. Customize Your eWay-CRM Before Account Creation
  6. Finish Your Registration
  7. Login to Your Existing Account

1) Select the Language

Primarily, the language of eWay-CRM is set by the installation. But the first dialog allows you to select one of the supported languages in what the welcome window and then eWay-CRM will be displayed.

Now, you need to choose:

  • Create Account - If you do not have an account that will allow you to use eWay-CRM.
  • Login - If you already have eWay-CRM account.

If you want to close the window without changes, click Cancel.

2) Select the Type of eWay-CRM Edition

eWay-CRM has two different editions - eWay-CRM Premium Trial and eWay-CRM Free. For more information, go to How to Choose the Right Edition.

If you select one of the editions, you will see new dialog with this form (it is same for eWay-CRM Premium Trial and eWay-CRM Free edition):

Company No Name of your company. It will be used in the customization part of the guide.
Country Yes It is prefilled with a country based on the setting of the Region in your Microsoft Windows.
I agree with the license terms Yes Must be marked to go on with registration. There is the link to the license terms.
Send me updates on new product... No If you marked the check box, we will send you emails with tips how to improve your work with eWay-CRM.

In the case you fill in at least mandatory values, confirm your choice by clicking Next.

If you want to go back, click Back. If you want to close the window without changes, click Cancel.

3) Choose the Form of the Database

If you click Next in the previous window, you will see the dialog where you can select one of three forms of creating the database for your new eWay-CRM.

The following text describes all three types. In the case you select your way of creating the database, confirm your choice by clicking Next.

If you want to go back, click Back. If you want to close the window without changes, click Cancel.

Make me a blank database

If you select the Make me a blank database option and then you click the Next button, you will move to the customization dialog of the guide.

After finalizing the registration, the empty database will be created and you can start fill it with data.

Make me a database with sample data

If you select the Make me a database with sample data option and then you click the Next button, you will move to the customization dialog of the guide.

Sample database is designed for those who are working with projects that has set standardized steps. It gives you the database that is pre-filled with data that are suitable for the introduction of work with eWay-CRM. You can use data for your own learning or for tutoring your employees.

Remember that you need to be connected to the internet while you select this option. The sample database cannot be download offline.

Transfer data from previous eWay-CRM Basic

For the user who are using eWay-CRM Basic that is supported no more, the possibility of data transfer is prepared. You never lose your old data and you can still work with them.

Select the Transfer data from previous eWay-CRM Basic option. The system is verifying whether it is able to connect automatically with the database - it must have standard login name as sa and password as eWay-CRM123.

If the database is not found or it needs different login, you will see fields for the database connection.

Fill in login data for your database and click Verify.

When the database is verified or automatically connected, you just click Next.

4) Select Modules

You do not have to install all modules of eWay-CRM, you can select only those you really need. These modules are installed regardless of your selection: Users, Journal, Documents, Emails, Tasks, CalendarSkills and Trainings / Certifications.

Contacts & Companies

You can create the database of your contacts and companies and save communication with them.

This module cannot be turned off. Contacts and Companies modules will be installed and also these reports: Activity on Companies.

Sales

Keep a record of your sales and whole communication.

Deals, Exchange Rates and Goals (only Sales Manager goal) module are installed. These reports are available: Activity on Deals, Deal Trend, Deals Forecast and Sales Activity.

Projects

Save all your projects and jobs, their completion level and plan all your tasks that are related to projects.

Projects and Exchange Rates modules are installed. These reports are available: Project Timeline and Planned vs Real Profit.

Marketing Campaigns

You have the option to send bulk mail and track its feedback.

Marketing and Marketing List module are installed. These reports are available: Marketing Results.

Quotes & Billing

Users can create proposals and invoices.

Bookkeeping, Products, Discount Lists and Goals modules are installed. These reports are available: Company Sales and Company Sales by Account Manager.

These settings are enabled in the Administration Application:

Time Sheets & Planning

These modules can be installed only in the case you are installing Projects too.

Users will be able to plan and register their work time and costs.

Time Sheets, Bonuses, Salaries, LeavesResource Plan, Work Commitments and Available Resources modules are installed. These reports are available: Time Sheet, Time Sheet by Company, Time Sheet With Costs, Users Projects Costs Pivot, Users Projects Attendance Pivot, User Vacation and Project Costs.

These settings are enabled in the Administration Application:

If you click the ? icon, you will see the basic description of modules. When you select all modules you really want, please continue with Next.

5) Customize Your eWay-CRM Before Account Creation

Customization window allows you to adjust the setting of eWay-CRM before you create your account. The values you fill in will customize the eWay-CRM Settings and administration settings of your eWay-CRM. The sections are describing all parts of the Customization setting:

General Settings

Default Language Same as you set in the language selection. This will set Default Language in Administration Application.
Default Currency Based on the Region of your Microsoft Windows. This will set Default Currency in Administration Application.
Two-way synchronization of Contacts between eWay-CRM and Outlook It will set Contacts synchronization settings in the eWay-CRM Settings > Contacts tab. The option is available only in the case you have selected Make me a blank database as the form of the database.
Synchronize also Companies between eWay-CRM and Microsoft Outlook in case you synchronize / import Contacts Create New Company While Importing Contact From Outlook will be turned on.
Automatically save e-mails sent to and received from eWay-CRM contacts It will set emails tracking in the eWay-CRM Settings > Emails tab.
Send error logs to help us improve eWay-CRM Check box is automatically marked. It will mark the same settings in the eWay-CRM Settings > Default values tab.
Apply General Data Protection Rules (GDPR) GDPR functions will be turned on in your eWay-CRM. For more information, go to GDPR in eWay-CRM.

Notifications

The setting is available only in the case you are register to eWay-CRM Premium Trial.

These setting will be automatically turned on:

Business Details for Microsoft Word Templates

SettingsDescription
Company Name Same as you insert in the form after edition selection. It will be used for the Microsoft Word templates - e.g. when you are want to print a proposal or invoice.
Street, City, ZIP, State They will be used for the Microsoft Word templates - e.g. when you are want to print a proposal or invoice.

If you customize the settings, go on by clicking Next. The eWay-CRM account and database will be created.

If you want to go back, click Back. If you want to close the window without changes, click Cancel.

6) Finish Your Registration

The final window shows you the progress of the registration. The database is created and data can be imported when you selected to download sample database or to import Basic database. You need to wait until you see dialog like this:

Note: eWay-CRM Free account will have only one user.

Click Start and you can use your eWay-CRM.

If you want to copy the text in dialog, just click Copy to Clipboard and past the text wherever you want. But do not be afraid, same text will be send to your email address you insert during the registration.

Important: Be sure you keep your login information, you may use them later after installation to new PC or for login to eWay-CRM Mobile.

7) Login to Your Existing Account

If you already have an account from the past, you can click Login right after the language selection. If you click Login, you will see this form:

We prefilled login data that are same you received in the step 5 of the registration. Now, if you click Next, the login will complete and you will see this success window with basic information.

Click Start and you can use your eWay-CRM.
